Ontario is moving ahead with another major step to get Highway 413 built, fight gridlock and keep our economy moving.
The Ontario PC government is launching procurement to design and build the eastern section of Highway 413 and extend Highway 427 north to the new highway. Work is also moving forward on the Highway 410 Extension, connecting drivers to Highway 413 and improving access across the region.
Highway 413 will make a real difference for drivers, saving commuters up to 30 minutes per trip and accommodating as many as 300,000 vehicles every day. It will help take pressure off existing 400-series highways and keep people and goods moving across the GTA.
And with President Trump’s tariffs threatening Ontario workers, businesses and our economy, building critical infrastructure has never been more important.
Highway 413 alone will support more than 6,000 good-paying jobs every year during construction and contribute more than $1 billion to Ontario’s GDP. It’s part of our historic $31 billion plan to build, repair and expand highways, roads and bridges across the province.
